Flood
Flooding can originate from external sources such as rivers or internal sources such as drainage. Each can cause severe damage to property as the water can contain chemical or bacterial contaminants.
Left untreated this can cause the breakdown of building components and lead to mould growth and secondary damage.
As part of the restoration process, standing water should be removed, affected areas thoroughly cleaned and sanitised, and an appropriate drying regime established.
Water
Water from a burst or leaking pipe can cause significant damage to the building structure.
Similarly to flood, this can damage building components and lead to mould and further damage.
